Shankar is a happy go lucky middle-class youth who lives in a hostel and pursues his education. The twist in the tales arises when Shankar locks horns with a corrupted ACP(John Vijay) who in turns tortures Shankar and labels him as a manic and drug addict.
How did Shankar cross paths with the ACP ? What problems did he face with him ? and How did he come clean in the end forms the rest of thestory.
Plus Points :-
One of the biggest assets of the film is the emotional storyline. The way an innocent student is made to go through hell has been written quite interestingly. Interval bang and the twist that comes at the end has been showcased quite well.
Nara Rohit pulls off an intense role with a lot of ease. The way he has mixed his emotions as a helpless youth and then as an angry young man speaks volumes of his talent.
Regina is just about okay in a de-glamorised role. The film looks quite realistic in certain areas and the performance of John Vijay makes it slightly better at times.
Minus Points :-
One of the biggest drawbacks of the film is the lack luster screenplay. The film has very less gripping moments and the jaded screenplay does not help matters much. After a point, the scenes become so tiring that an interesting plot is killed half way.
The film looses heavily on time lapse and the result is clearly visible in the varied visuals of the film. The way Nara Rohit has been introduced through a meaningless song is also disappointing. Rohit’s look also takes a severe beating as he is skinny in one scene where as quite different in another.
